How The App Works

The Loopie app is where you manage and pay your RUCs. It connects securely to NZTA, automatically pulls in your vehicle details, and lets you buy RUCs in seconds. You can add as many vehicles as you like , everything stays in one simple dashboard.

When you first set up a vehicle, you’ll be asked to enter your current odometer reading, which we cross-check against NZTA’s most recent record for accuracy. From there, you can track your distance, view reminders when you’re running low, and top up your RUC balance instantly through the app.

If you have the Loopie device, your readings update automatically. If not, you’ll just enter them manually every now and then - quick and easy. Loopie doesn’t enforce RUC accuracy or penalties. Odometer verification happens through NZTA during normal vehicle WOF inspections.
